Toppan Photomasks, Inc. (TPI), the world’s preferred global partner for photomasks, announced today that Dr. Franklin Kalk, Chief Technology Officer, was honored at this year’s SPIE Photomask Technology conference with a Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given in recognition for his significant contributions to the photomask industry and his leadership in developing cutting edge infrastructure.

“Dr. Kalk has contributed greatly to the body of knowledge in the photomask area through his many technical publications and patents, and his extensive engagement within the industry,” said Paul Ackmann, Fellow Engineer at GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc., Bacus President, and member of the SPIE Photomask Technology committee. “Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in realizing important innovations that have contributed to today’s capabilities and will help enable tomorrow’s.”

The Photomask Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual, or group of individuals, for contributions that advanced the mask making industry through innovation, business, or infrastructure. The candidates must be well recognized and have made significant contributions to help and advance the mask industry.
